      5 Dysfunctions of a Team

      August 8, 2017

      |

      Anne Everett

Renowed author Patrick Lencioini in his book The Five Dysfunctions of a Team reminds us that leadership requires courage and insight.

The world of teams is a complex and fascinating one.

Yet, to build a cohesive team succesfully is to keep it simple.

Lets look at the positives rather than the dysfunctions.

The behaviour in a  truly cohesive team is the opposite:

      1. They trust one another

      2. They engage in unfiltered conflict around ideas

      3. They commit to decisions and plans of action

      4. They hold one another accountable for delivering against those plans

      5. They focus on achieving collective results

Teamwork ultimately comes down to practicing a small set of principles over a time.

It is embracing uncommon levels of discipline and persistence.
